Zhenni Lu

Zhenni first became interested in Drexel’s Biodiversity in Bioko Island study abroad program through her classmates and friends who previously participated. After hearing about all the wonderful things they experienced, her interest was piqued, and Zhenni decided to apply. Having last traveled abroad when she moved to the United States at the age of one, she realized she wanted to experience a new culture and broaden her view on life. While trying to figure out how to afford the cost of the program, she learned about the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship and applied in order to fund her study abroad. Without Gilman’s support, participation would not have been possible. Currently, Zhenni is interested in aquatic ecology and water quality, as well as conservation. She hopes to make a difference in the world while enjoying what she does.
